Princess and the Pea - First Nations

The story of the Princess and the Pea is sort of silly one but the imagery can be such a great one with all layers of bedding and pillows. I decided to create a series based loosely on this but make the princess sleeping soundly, the Pea is her pet and celebrate the vibrant lush textures, colours and elements of different countries.

In Saskatchewan, we have a rich First Nations heritage and culture that needs to be celebrated. I personally admire the deep connection and respect that they share with the earth that surrounds us all. The cuddly bear sleeping soundly makes you just want to cuddle right up and catch some rest.
